I was also inspired by the titles used in the title sequence of SE7EN:
The flickering effect they used cached my attention, therefore I wanted to implement this in my film opening. In Seven, the typography itself was hand-sketched into black-surface scratchboard and manipulated during the film transfer process to further smear and jitter it. Then a final layer of temporal distress was added. For my film title “ME AND I” I used the typography I had selected previously. Then in premiere pro, I added an effect to make it move in random directions. To create the effect of distress, in some seconds in between the title, I increased the scale of the letters and added a blur effect. I also tried to keep up with the same aesthetic for my credits. I think this matches with my genre and with the effect I am trying to create in the viewer.
