TRIMMING THE AUDIO OF THE SONG

“Get Free”, the song I have chosen for my music video, was released on January 1, 2018, as the final track on the album "Lust for Life". It has a duration of 5 minutes and 34 seconds. The average time of indie/pop songs can vary, as there is no strict rule or standard when it comes to the length of songs in this genre. However, generally, indie/pop songs tend to be around 3 to 4 minutes in length. This means this specific song is extremely long. If I wanted to keep its length, I would need to produce so many shots. The music video would be too long and the audience would lose interest and attention before finishing the whole video. I decided to use premier pro to trim the audio and make it have an appropriate length before starting the post-production stage.  This not only allowed me to take out some sections of the lyrics which were unnecessary, but also make the ending of the song decrease its volume while it develops. Using Premiere pro makes the process much easier as it allows me to cut out sections of the song that don't match the visual content I am planning on including. There were several difficulties I had to overcome when trimming the song. I had to maintain the flow and coherence of the music, making sure the cuts were in the correct places. If it is done incorrectly, it could disrupt the rhythm and pacing of the song, leading to an awkward listening experience. Keeping the integrity of the song was my main objective as I was not keen on cutting out important parts such as the chorus or a memorable instrumental break. I could have used an online audio trimmer, however I preferred to do it myself and remove the unnecessary parts I thought would not contribute to my music video. As I am using it for personal use, I did not have to obtain any necessary licences or permissions before making any edits to the track.
